2. How to choose an installer

Choosing the right installer can make all the difference on how your alarm system works. Don’t just open the yellow pages and throw darts at it to pick your installer.

Read the ads to see how long they have been in business, if they are a member of the BBB, etc., and check with your neighbors and see if they would recommend their installer. Most installers get new clients by word of mouth referrals from satisfied customers. Call these installers up and discuss what you are looking for in an alarm system. Then visit their showroom to see and have demonstrated the different types of systems they have available. Check out at least 3 installers in your area, then have each one come to your premise and quote you on a system designed especially for you.

Call a monitoring station and get a recommendation because who knows a dealer better than that dealers 24 hour monitoring station.

Then choose the installer that you feel most comfortable working with and don’t let the price of the system sway you to the lowest bid.
